Re: Distributor - points or electronic?

Personally, I'm perfectly happy with my zenith carb, my jeep starts up and purrs every time. I think a lot of timing and vacuum leak issues get blamed on a bad carb ....

Re: MUTT Ambulance Phase Out

my understanding, and I may be wrong on this, so hopefully someone with direct knowledge will jump in, was that the mutts were frontline ambulances, and were used to retrieve people from the actual combat locations and get them back to a rear area where they would be transferred to a aid unit or ano...

Re: Riddle Me This...... A2 by whom

I have never heard that the "may have been duplicated from one run to another". I have always understood that they were concurrent numbers and ALL different. Never hearing of anything that they could or would have duplicated numbering. Also is there another tag other than the one in the...

Re: Riddle Me This...... A2 by whom

The original A2 tub made by Ford had the front fender lip that ran straight across, during the 1970 production year. The military requested a change since it collected mud and debris to the point that it interfered with steering. The 1971 model year had the notched fender the same as the AMG. Theref...

Jim,

Depending on the year of manual I did find one that illustrated "T.P. 20"

Re: Riddle Me This...... A2 by whom

This is one of a number of M151A2's converted to Tow Missle Jeeps by the US Army Aviation and Missle Command at the Redstone Arsenal in Huntsville Al between 12/74 and 1978. The tub is a AMG tub. The original cost was a little over $16K each. How's that?

Re: Mic hook location?

the mounts can be used with different radios so the speakers were there for use with them. the 524 having an internal speaker didn't need one, but if issued a 246 then you would need it. also the R-442 aux receiver needed a separate speaker. I have three speakers on mine, one for the RT-246, one for...

Re: Mic hook location?

never saw it there, it would stick out and possibly stab you in the leg on rough terrain. It was usually kinda tucked under the sponson bracket where the mic would be protected a little, like the aux speakers.

Re: Mic hook location?

usually on the side of the fenderwell, below the radio. There really wasn't any "official" spot though, it was pretty much where the installer thought it most convenient.
