Re: Looking for lifting hub centers for a M151

Definitely the anti-social type...

Just an fyi - make sure your hubs have threads in them. I bought a set of lifting eyes and I then discovered my hubs have no threads to receive them, so they are now sitting in the manger... Another lesson learned the hard way.

Re: Looking for Details on a Gun Jeep

Unfortunately none of the books includes pictures of the inside of a typical gun jeep. Does someone know a MUTT owner (or is a MUTT owner) that has configured their M-series as a gun jeep? I'd love to check out their ride if possible, or perhaps get some pics of the interior details!! Thanks again f...

Re: Looking for Details on a Gun Jeep

They are still out there!! There's a guy on Gun Broker right now with 4 191A4 .308 kits for sale for $1550 each. I actually want the 30.06 kits so I had to look around for a while. SARCO received one last week and I bought it - also apex had a 1919A6 and I bought that one as well. If you're looking ...

They also have the charger handle!!! Kinda exciting looking at the exploded views and finding stuff you need. It's like Christmas!!
I just bought two 1919A4 kits for my MUTT as well. Christmas came early for me!!

Re: looking for the following parts for a M73E1 dummy I'm building for display with my M151

I do see some stuff on the Numrich Gun Parts website for the M73 - it looks like they have new charger housing assemblies, which I believe is something you need!! (I had to look at our picks on militaria.com as the ones here have been lobotomized and hard to read).

Not sure how they made this work, but they have something to hold ammo boxes up near the guns.

Re: Looking for Details on a Gun Jeep

An update: before the socialists take over, I've purchased two M1919A4 kits for my gun jeep project. A Jeep from the 8th Transportation Group, 54th Battalion, 512th Transportation Company named California Dreamer had two M1919A4s early in its life and that's what I'm going for. It eventually receive...

Re: VIC1 question

Just and FYI - Fair Radio in Lima Ohio has quite a bit of stuff for the VIC-1, many different length power cables control cables etc.. I noticed their prices are better than from Ebay sellers. If you haven't checked them out, give their sight a look see.

Have a nice day!

Re: Intercomm

Right on! Thanks for the information!! My email is arushing@ford.com.
I am scrounging up all the parts for a VIC-1 and two crew stations. Nothing fancy, but wanted to make a decent gun-jeep recreation.

Thanks again!

Have a nice day!!

Intercomm

Looking for some info on what kind of intercomm would have been used in a gun Jeep 67-69? Also any info on how it would interface with a prc-77 and where it and the radios could have been mounted other than in the normal location?? Any pics inside gun jeeps? I’ve seen the sugar scoop mounted up on t...

Re: Looking for Details on a Gun Jeep

Thanks for the info!! I have all of Mr. Lyles books and have seen the video - I have seen a few cool things to incorporate like a mermite on the drivers side rear bumper. Not sure how it stays there just yet, but could be cool. Anyone been to any of the gun truck reunions?? That would be a place to ...

Looking for Details on a Gun Jeep

Was wondering if anyone had further information about a particular gun jeep named: California Dreamer? I have a few pics, and I can discern that the jeep served in the 54 Transportation Battalion, 512th Transportation Company. Would anyone happen to know its serial number, or have any further detail...

Re: Lets talk M1's and 30 caliber ammo

Hitting the CMP forums, they recommend that any 150 to 180 grain commercially available ammo will do just nicely in any of the .30 caliber toys - be it a Krag, M1903, M1917 Enfield, M1917 or M1919 series machine guns: 1903A3 or A4, M1 Garand, BAR or the Johnson rifle of 1941! Enjoy all the flavors!!!
