Problem with finding this site

Unread post by Vzike » February 16th, 2018, 11:08 am

The FaceBook M151 MUTT Owners page has someone in Denmark that can no longer get to this site.... which is clearly working, since I'm posting this now... and use it every day.

Here is the conversation.

I haven't been able to pull up g838.org for a few days. Has anyone else has trouble bringing up the site?

Vin Zike You're in Denmark, right? There you go! It's those vikings messing with you again. Try looking up "HTTP 500" error code on your browser. See if they offer any solution. I'll post this on the G838 tech site and see if they will look at it.

The HTTP 500 error code says it is a general error associated with the site. Since it is working for most of us, I can only assume it is a Europe issue.

Any ideas????

fighting SPAM a range of IP addresses have been blocked and he might fall into them. Or he is blocked on purpose which I am not thinking is the case. Don't think anybody was blocked yet actually...

As already mentioned on FB, I am located in Germany and I do not have any problems, either with Firefox, IE, Opera or Chrome.

Can enter g838.org or www.g838.org and both is working fine.

The site has been going down for some people and not for others. I can not find any issues in the control panel. I have let Moose53, the site owner know on several occasions so all I can do now is wait and see what he comes up with. The spam issues was solved a couple months ago so there has been no more IP blocking since then. Vin, can you tell me who it is that can't get on from Denmark? If he has not been able to get on since early December then he could have fallen under that block issue and I will need his IP address to unblock him.

I have his info on the records on here but I do not have his IP which leads me to believe his might have been blocked since he is in the Netherlands and that is where 99 1/2% of all of the spammers are coming out of.

Rick,

The IP address won't help, because it will change everytime you're going Online. It could be more a question how you're connected to the Internet, e.g. provider, backbone and so on. I am having a contract with German Telekom (land line) and Vodafone (cell phone). Both are working fine while connecting to the G838.

I´m back ! :-)

No idea what went wrong, but it seems to be working again.

Thank you for your efforts to rectify the problem.

Welcome back Henrik, I was really hoping you did not fall into the banned IP category. It appears there was a problem with the server but we may not be out of the woods yet. It is Jims server and he is still not talking. The host made a change as a favor and kind of against the rules so this was a one shot repair.
