Quick Reply

Unread post by TrueXena » December 18th, 2008, 12:57 pm

WAY kewl, if it worked. LOL

For some reason I see 2 buttons for the new "quick reply" option at the bottom of a topic/thread.

I've tried both of the buttons and neither one is actually working correctly. It will open up a 'reply' section under the topic/thread, but when I hit 'submit' it gives me an error, and sends me to a 'post a reply' page where I have to hit 'submit' again. (i'll get a screen shot of what I'm talking about, cuz I'm sure I make no sense at all right now)

Just wanted to let ya know.

ETA: I get "Post a reply

The submitted form was invalid. Try submitting again." error page, then when I click on the 'submit' button on that page, it goes through fine.

no problem, just wanted to make you aware of it. I still use it, I just have to hit submit twice till it gets fixed. ;)

I'm glad you let me know when you see a problem, sometimes (like the chat room) I don't see it on my end.

Speaking of chat room, I'm still "banned" from it.

its got to be somethin on your end Ray, I tried several different computers and software combination and cannot duplicate the problem. I'm guessing the culprit is a firewall or security program. No one is banned, I even signed in as you and got right in...

I am running Norton 360 and have tried turning off the firewall and all other security settings. I am running the latest version of Mozilla FireFox. I have also attempted to log on using Internet Explorer. No luck.

i see two quick reply buttons also.

You might want to try this,

http://chrispederick.com/work/web-developer/

It will let you look at the code on a live forum and see whats going on. You can also edit the code and see what happens without doing anything to the original code.

I looked at this page and it appears that the quick reply is in the code twice.

Raymond,

Did you try turning off your pop up blocker? You may also have to go into your internet security settings and change them.
