Jeff: If you checked on those other sites once every three months it would be no problem keeping up. I'm sure it varies but nothing new EVER comes up. How about the state club sites are they not taking away from the 503 and the 838? Somehow I think their is room for everyone. I hope people are not worried that the 503 is going to wither and die because we have a new site?

Please let's keep this one going-I felt like a 5 year old on the other site. Then when I finally suggested something to Ron......well some of you guys remember what happened. OK, I used a 'bad' word in a private message, {PRIVATE MESSAGE !!} and bingo I was immediately banned, {ok Ron says not so but i assure you for about 3 hours after I opened Ron's reply to my second pm to answer i back, i was unable to reply to him or get onto the site and got a harsh message with each attempt- when the uproar started thanks to Mr D , i was suddenly back up. Go figure.} Warning to those who post pms there too, i suspect they are not pms at all. Does someone 'moderate' the pms and report back to the leader?
But then, as if to prove my point, once again I was treated like a five year old and my mouth washed out with soap. This time publicly when Ron published my pm to him and the story came out in the open.
Just as this was happening to me and others, Moose started this site.
Anyway, end of story. Moose's initiative needs to be rewarded: setting up, and improving, and then running a site is a huge job, I have done it, and no matter what Moose says, it is not simple or easy.
If we support this site it will prosper, if only just for a casual venue to share stories and have a few 'virtual internet beers' together.
The technical side will be filled out as those with the knowledge will post it here. Hopefully in sections like a manual that can be easily found and consolidated.
Say, did anyone notice the newly created M151 club on the g503 site has been eliminated? Did I miss something? I was traveling the last few days
I only wish a few more of the friends i 'met' on the other site would migrate over here as well, many of them have, but people like Bob Amon are still missed here, and others, too.

It seems to me that one site was sufficient.

Same people discussing the same things here as G503. Same harangues posturings and confrontations as before. So what's new?

Fil: Glad to see you're are here and posting. Sometimes we tend to remember being run over by a tank and it's hard to forget. If we all post new info.....Well, we're going to reap what we sow.

I think thats his point Floyd, we had all pretty much collected on G503, and the other sites kinda withered. I joined all of them, but the only one i really checked several times a day was g503. Even the MVPA site was pretty much worthless. My hopes are that we all visit both sites, but I think if this one continues to grow this can become the "one stop shopping" point for m151 knowledge, surpassing what was available before, only because it is our prime purpose, not an addition. If not, then it will die out, and the scenario Jeff objects to will indeed exist. I wish some of the groups etc. that have only had spam, no real messages, and don't care to address it, would just close those boards, because as Jeff says, newbies finding them may get lost between the cracks and never get any help, which is what these boards are supposed to provide, a support system for all of us interested in the MV hobby.

As pointed out by Moose53 everybody was in one spot on G503, more or less. He gets my point, you seem to have missed it. Read his post.

And for me it has nothing to do with selling M151 parts, It has to do with trying to help fellow M151 owners!!!!

If you do some research you will find that I seem to be the only M151 parts Dealer who is dumb enough to try and help!!! I get insulted and smacked around for my trouble a fair amount, and can see why I am the only one.......... It does make me wonder why I even bother sometimes!

Jeff: I think that it’s great that both of you think I missed the point. I guess a remedial 151 course would bring me up to speed perhaps, then again maybe not. Let me suggest if someone is trying to come up with a better mouse trap let’s all stand in the way citing why he’s going to fail, impeding progress and insuring failure. I’m really tired of listening to flatulent flim-flam rhetoric. G503 is not going to die and if all the 151 people that have associated themselves with the site left today. All the accumulated information would not be lost in cyberspace. It would take a rather vindictive person to physically insure its demise.

Jeff, your credentials as a dealer is a well known commodity. Acorn and laurels should be bestowed. I have questioned neither that ability nor your helpfulness on the 503. Some how I think you feel from your postulating that, that has somehow been negated here on the 838. Unless Jim has communicated with you and defrocked you of that gift feel free to continue here.

As far as insults I don’t recall any and if the need ever arose I’m guessing the person being insulted would more than remember my defamation and slander.

It was clearly a Moderation issue on the G503

This coming from a guy who is sponsered by the very page he is putting down! Come on Bleddyn, we are friends (at least I think we still are) but I need to tell you, You know how to push peoples buttons. I have been a racer for as long as I can remember, I have raced everything from lawn mowers up to big rigs, plus boats and snowmobiles. I love the competition sport. I even got into a bulldozer race that ended up as a nose to nose pushing match! What a hoot! But competition and restoration are inherently at each others throats so you have to expect some flak. Here is a hint to make your posts a little more appealing, Single space and check your spelling! Spelling does not have to be perfect but at least close. Just my opinion, opinions are like a**holes, everbody has one.

Bleddyn,

I guess I'm one of those purist you refer to but I'm not pissed off or offended by your postings. This is a hobby and we all will do with it as we like. The fact that you are modifying a M151 for racing is great! I rather see you mod one of these vehicles than run over it with a bulldozer.
