Rick, I thought the three brace hood was straight 151?
If not what determines the difference?
Best regards

The early straight 151 hoods had a relief in the sides where the turn signal wire came out and also had a pin for the windshield strap instead of a footman loop.

I think rickf meant that the early hood "didn't" have the relief for the turn signal wires, it only had a relief on the drivers side at the air intake cutout for the blackout drive light. :)

Now I am going to have to go look at both of mine! I am sure I have a three rib with the two reliefs and the pin style hold down but what you say makes since since the early straight did not have turn signals.

They went to the two brace to save money and then eventually back to the three after caving in enough of them to realize that a third brace was needed. DUH! A flat surface on a mobile vehicle is GOING to get piled with stuff! Not to mention be a convenient place to stand to see above things.
