M151 (Encore?) for sale in south Florida - not mine
I found this on Craigslist. One of the guys in the garage I work on my trucks at saw it a few weeks ago. After he described it, I knew the tub was not a 151. Then it popped up on Craigslist.
This is a pretty nice looking truck, but the ad does not let on that it is not a real M151.
It is interesting, in that it has A1 steering and rear suspension. Most Encores (I have one) have A2 suspensions. I can see the tail gate, but it is straight accross in the back. All the other lines are clearly the same as my Encore, including the bottom flat floor pans.

It does look nice. I like the rear coil overs. However, they just don't look right without the stiffener ribs in the sheet metal!

Notice how far forward on the cowl the windshield is placed, you could never put doors on it and the support rods for the top must have been fabricated. I do know of one other Encore with the A1 suspension under it.

Actually, my Encore has doors and side curtains. The door frames are original, but all the soft stuff is aftermarket. The doors use the side windshield slots for the the seal, and dot snaps for most of the rest. I'll have to try an original top on it sometime. I would need to put footman loops on the back to make that work, and it would come down over the tail gate.

Actually, now that I've looked at the pictures closer, you can see something interesting. Take a look at the picture that shows the steering wheel with the dash behind it. Now look at where the windshield hinge goes. It looks like they moved it forward. You can clearly see two holes where the original windshield hinge should have been.

Ahem, look two posts up. Beat ya to it. That was why I commented on the top and door thing.Vzike wrote:Actually, now that I've looked at the pictures closer, you can see something interesting. That's one way to tighten that saggy top up.
