Houston Area CL (Not Mine)

Unread post by Surveyor » January 20th, 2017, 1:36 pm

Anybody on south side of Houston?

http://houston.craigslist.org/cto/5961087846.html

From phone number lookup it looks like Pasadena 4x4 Salvage on the southeast side of Houston. No pictures shown.

Wants $750.

I would think that by the time a 4X4 is salvaged in Texas it is in pretty bad shape.

I got my first one from the Dallas area. It was in pretty good shape. I guess it all hinges on which cowboy had it for the past 25 years.

Nope.... In fact, it came to the owner from the CAN at Ft Polk. He managed to get just the body, and spent the next 15 years accumulating the rest of the parts to get a whole vehicle. The engine had an issue, so he never got it running good. Also, it's original markings were USMC, yet the frame was in remarkably good condition. I lucked out.

I actually got a 42 GPW given to me from a metal recycling yard by the owner of the yard. Had I not come along I'm sure it would have been shredded that day. It was parked right under the giant claw of death when I asked about it. Great story that 'll share after the day comes when I unbury it at my place and get photos for y'all. The pitiful thing had suffered every abuse that you can think of. They're still out there!
