Several M151s on eBay - NOT MINE!!!

Unread post by Vzike » March 27th, 2017, 12:51 pm

Gotta love eBay...... Several M151s have popped up on the radar.....

1971 Ford M151A2: $16k
http://www.ebay.com/itm/252828997342?_t ... EBIDX%3AIT

1974 AMG M151A2: $14k
http://www.ebay.com/itm/282409442023?_t ... EBIDX%3AIT

Here is the one I'm interested in hearing some comments on.....
NO YEAR, M151 (maybe a frankenmutt), 151 front, A2 back with A1 rear lights, 60 amp alt., and on and on .... Just seems all made up, but ad says not cut. I'd have to see the bottom pictures to believe it. BUT, HEY!!! it has bullet holes! And we all know that mutts were brought back from VN with bullet holes!!!! NOT!
Buy it now for $8000

There are also some MBs, an M38A1, and some M37s

That looks like a straight 151 with a 60 amp conversion and A1 lights bolted on the rear. Has the straight/A1 rear lifting shackles. No A2 light buckets in the rear. No holes in the rear body at all for that matter? I can see the standoffs for the voltage regulator on the cowl. It is just a converted straight 151. The bullet holes in the seat were probably when the seat frame was in the scrap pile.

The 74 has some issues, 14,000 for a vehicle with the entire drivers side beat to hell?!!!! And even worse, look at the picture of the engine and tell me what is wrong, it is fairly obvious.

The 71 is pretty nice. As long as you don't look at the glaring WWII invasion star on the hood. The gas can is on backwards and the fuel ling goes in under the horn for some reason. But the biggest thing.................... He has the top on in the summer and off in the winter, IN ALASKA!!!

I think that no-year truck has a kit body that someone cleverly stitched an original nose onto. It's not an Alley Cat. Titan or other. Anybody agree?

I think more likely a mutt that has had one hell of a lot of "Extra" body added to it to cover what used to be there. the footwell cutout is all wrong and you can see where it was scabbed in but the flare at the bottom and front and back edges of the side panel is also wrong and does not match with the rest of the body. I think the base body is right, just a lot of make up on that pig.

Cold very well be just that, Rick. It never ceases to amaze me what great lengths people go to to put these trucks back together.
