Yeah... top half. :D I think there is a good chance this is a 62. No holes and support for front turn lights and the shovel brackets also would point to early besides previous items mentioned.... hard to tell but looks like early windshield bumpers and hood latch style. Dont think the engine is original however.

$3000
Here's my take... Says 1966 with title but I have a hunch this is an early m151 with later data plate. It appears to have the driver side cowl vent and a hole where the passenger vent should be (dual vent setup). Also has single horn latches. Poor quality pictures though.

While stationed at Ft Hood (1973-78), I recall being on a tank trail on the west side, headed almost to North Ft Hood, when we came across what appeared to be a rancher driving an old M151. Seems he had a "Hatari"-style seat out front, so this was a two-man truck (one to drive, one to herd). This rends me a lot of that truck. When asked, he "hmmmm'd and haw'd" as a response to "how did you get the truck?" questions.

Don't forget the desirable, and awesomely huge patch on the side panel. I wonder of the rope light comes with it.

Hello all!,

I am a new member and imagine my surprise when I see the ad posted here for the two Portland area M151's, that I just purchased. It looks like I bought them the day before the ad was posted here. They are both 4-62 for delivery date, manufactured by Ford. They are both really complete with minimal rust, mostly front floor pans and transmission crossmember.

They both have early hoods, 3 rib. Early hood hold downs, early metal hood bumpers ECT. Both have what I believe to be original Ford engines. Both have flat top air cleaners. There are 7 magnesium wheels that came with them. I will post more about them in another section of the forum, with pictures soon. They were both purchased surplus in the very late 60's. One has a 1971 alaska plate and registration. They were later shipped to Oregon when the man moved to the lower 48. It also came with a 1977 vintage power pack on a pallet, the odometer on that engine says 33,000 miles. Who knows if the mileage is accurate.

Thanks for letting me be a part of the group!

Joe

Welcome and we look forward to more pics. Looks like you have quite a project on your hands. What is the condition of the second one? I assume that would be the yellow one in the background?

The second one is the yellow one in the background, it needs very little as far as body work and is very complete.

The green one looks horrible in the picture but the rust isn't too bad. Mostly front floors. The previous owner told me he rolled it in Alaska when he was 18. He said his dad used the thumb on a backhoe to roll it back over. It looks like the backhoe did most of the damage to the body. I am comfortable with metal work and plan to save it as well. As soon as I learn how to post photos I will place an ad on the restoration forum.

Thanks!
