Hmmm... it is either a repro (Growler etc) or it has had extensive sheet metalwork done.

That is an Encore body but the windshield was mounted too far forward. I have seen this one before. I always wondered how hey got the top to fit. I know the vinyl tops are usually loos but that is forward a good two inches.

If is is an Encore, it has been modified a lot. The back is totally different. Encores have tail gates with the spare mounted higher. Also, the back bed is stitch welded. Mine full welded. There are a number of other differences.

The windshield placement is certainly not Encore. There are a number of things about this that make me think it is not Encore built. Encore had a lot of stuff left when the Feds told them to stop making them (at least, that is what I was told by someone who had two Encore bodies they welded up themselves). I suspect this is an Encore body that someone bought out the parts, and made it up themselves.... That means they probably drilled and mounted the windshield hinge to better fit the top. Mine is a 1998 Encore. The top fits well. I recently added the footman loops so I could use an issue top on it, rather than have one made. That being said, the top on it is custom made by a boat canvas place, using "Sunbrella" cloth. It's great.

On closer inspection of the pictures, the front signal lights are mounted different than an Encore. There are no holes for the Encore side running lights, and the back of the vinyl top appears to be tucked into a straight back of the vehicle.... which could be an Encore like tail gate.....

Rick, If you look closely at the first picture, it appears the top bow is not fully extended to the back, and yet the top is tight. That suggests to me that the position of the top bow may be due to the windshield being mounted excessively forward.

What do you think?

Looks like it is locked in to me, that was the first thing I looked for. The top does appear to be pulled pretty tight around the back of the bow though.

I don't remember the rear panel of the Encore stepped down like this, could it be a Growler? I have never seen one.

Encore was the only one of the aftermarkets to have the original style footwell cutout. Some had none and some had a square one but Encore had the original profile.

The Titan body I just started on has those squared off foot well openings. I’m getting the curved pieces from Guy Loomis and will make them like original M151s. It makes it easier to get in and out. The Titan has squared off front fenders too. I’ll be changing those as well.

I'm leaving mine squared off, just because it was original.

That is looking good! I remember your earlier pics. You've come a long way with it. What year is yours?

Not sure what year the body is, bought it in Tx. for $400, no title, just a bill of sale for 1972 M151 Jeep, will get bonded title, $150.

$500 - https://orlando.craigslist.org/cto/d/mi ... 10689.html

I am told the main frame rails have a good bit of rot.
