I have an exhaust pipe extension that I think is for a MUTT ambulance. I have pictures I can email if you are interested.
It has partial label on it, but the first part of the NSN is torn off. The info on the label is:

PIPE ASSY
1 EA A-3/74
DAAE07-74-C-4004
$20 plus shipping from 33404

That's Blake @ Red River, I think the whole extension is $300, That one is correct for the M718 not M718A1.Surveyor wrote:I believe there is also a fender extension piece on ebay right now as well.

WHat's the difference in the 718 vs 718A1 body extension. I have seen lots of these over the years and never saw any variation between them....

This one is in a LITTLE BIT better shape than mine.
Re: M718 ?? exhaust extension For sale SOLD!!!
I have never seen that before. The holes from one version don't even line up with the holes from the other. That's a great thing to notice because they don't look at all cross compatible. I have only seen a few 718's in person over the years but I haven't seen that support type on any of them. John Murray has a M718A1 thats as delivered to the military and if memory serves, its got what you are describing as the early support. Neat!!

Both of my 718A1's have that same mount, can't tell you exactly when they changed, maybe Ken can enlighten us.
Re: M718 ?? exhaust extension For sale SOLD!!!
They probably changed when they went from the A1 body to the A2 body. Different rear panel and different rear supports for airlift would require a different support.

1967 M416

Kinda what I was thinking Rick, if I had to guess, with the new taillight design on the A2 , there wasn't enough room for the early mount??????rickf wrote:They probably changed when they went from the A1 body to the A2 body.
