Hi guys - thanks! I've been a member of G503 and those folks suggested I go here. I didn't even know this site existed. Its neat to see a site dedicated to the Mutt - indeed! Myself & my father have had a few M38's & M38A1's. This was the only Mutt we ever had. We reside near Halifax, Nova Scotia. My Dad is a retired Captain from the Canadian Forces with over 40 years served. Here is my website if anyone wants to check it out.

That plate may indeed be a M38A1 plate. I tried to sort that out several years ago. When my Dad bought this Jeep, it was already titled (Nova Scotia) with this plate. Since this Mutt was a complete restoration, many of the parts were sourced from other units. I tried to take the high road at our DMV and go through proper channels to get the correct VIN, title, etc. DMV gave me nothing but grief and would not help me with a 40 year old military vehicle. Several from our club suggested I was going against a faceless, careless, brick wall. And they were right. Therefore, at least we knew we had a proper 1971 title and we left the issue lie.
