Unread post by Bevan » June 28th, 2014, 7:29 am

I have an Encore M151 that i must part with. Motor runs great. Clutch slips a little at higher speeds. Just got in a bind and need the cash. Can let it go for $4500. There are pics in this ad: http://myrtlebeach.craigslist.org/cto/4539773769.html

Can you explain the severely bent rollcage and the home made windshield? Why was it retitled and what was it titled as?

1967 M416
04/1952 M100

It was that way when i purchased it. I bought it in January '13. It's titled as a 1998 Encore M151. I mainly have just used it to get around on private property. Needs minor fixes (signal flasher and fuel gauge and speedometer don't work.) I'm assuming it was rolled at some point by a previous owner. Windshield is plexiglass and there aren't any wipers. As far as cranking and getting from point A to point B, it has never let me down.

Thank you. I can tell you that honesty like that will go a long ways towards selling it. I have wanted an Encore for a long time and it is very tempting but this is bad timing. I will be watching though because I will be down that way soon. Titled as a 1998 would mean full emissions inspection up here and no way will a M151 engine pass emissions. I am good but I don't think I am that good.

Thanks, Rick. I don't have much knowledge about M151s in general. I honestly bought it because it I had never seen one before. Bought it thinking it was an original. After purchasing it and doing a little research, I realized i had been suckered. Still a cool ride for a daily driver, just no real historical value.

Unhooked clutch rod, 2 turns in and clutch doesn't slip anymore.
