Ah, you're just jealous of the "frame off" restoration and his dual fording system.
I agree, something clearly rotten in Denmark.

Re: I wouldn't buy this M151A1
I made with my Gama Goat 400 miles ... within two days. What the heck is meant by "driven weekly"? Out of the garage, back into the garage - just along the driveway?Vehicle was a frame off professional restoration done in Texas in 2010. It is driven weekly, but only has 600 miles on it since restoration.

He has a reverse image of the drivers side posted as the passenger side. Look at his passenger side photo and it has an axe, fuel tank, and backwards lettering.Aswayze wrote:his dual fording system.

This. Our company mortar platoon used to have them many years ago. Most of them wore ear muffs when operating.rickf wrote:You drove a goat 400 miles in two days? No wonder you can't hear anything!

Yes, I am using a headset, intercom with my co-driver. No way out, no other chance to communicate.retiredpara wrote:This. Our company mortar platoon used to have them many years ago. Most of them wore ear muffs when operating.

If your MV is parking in your yard for six months, running again after fixing the major brake and other minor problems, I think you would go, go, go, too.rickf wrote:You drove a goat 400 miles in two days? No wonder you can't hear anything!
What did you say? Can you please speak a little bit louder? You're thousands of miles away. Perhaps that is the reason.

Can't hear you because of the distance. If I had a Goat I would be in it every day. That applies to yours or Horst's. I have wanted a Gamma Goat for many years and just was never able to find one in running condition that I could afford.

Re: I wouldn't buy this M151A1
For me it is a part of my collection, M151 (1/4t) w/M416, M561 (1 1/4t) and M35 (2 1/2t). You see, it is in the middle. I was thinking of a Mule, too. But you'll never get one street legal here. So this is more for a show case which I do not have.rickf wrote:(...)I have wanted a Gamma Goat for many years and just was never able to find one in running condition that I could afford.
Same here, it is really hard to get a M561 Gama Goat in a good condition. That was the reason why I got mine from a guy in England. And the result after the first miles on continental roads: brake problems. Getting spare parts for a Gama Goat is a nightmare. While you can go to your surplus dealer of your choice for getting parts for the M151 or M35, you're getting nothing for the Goat. I am more on ebay for M561 parts than for M151 or M35 parts.

Re: I wouldn't buy this M151A1
been away for a while, but that was mine that I did the resto off back in 2010 and sold in 2011 (or so). I see the buyer that bought it from me is selling it now. Agreed, the pics suck. Doesn't do it justice. It was originally a cut and re-weld, and we did a lot of work underneath to not see the welds, but you can tell in two small sections in the battery compartment and under the fuel tank.
Unless the current owner dogged it, it should be GTG.

I always love it when a group of people slam an ad figuring there is no way the owner will ever know and then the owner, or someone in the know, says, "Hey, that is/was mine". Kind of humbling isn't it? It's a small world.

Re: I wouldn't buy this M151A1
I don't think anyone was slamming the vehicle.
I think that those of us who are suspicious are more suspicious of if the guy with the auction is actually in possession of a vehicle at all instead of running a scam.
When you have good pics collected together on the net, it's fairly easy for dishonest people to create an auction for something that they do not in fact actually own.
Things like a mirror image being used to represent one side of the truck "frame off" restoration terms, things like that just sort of throw up flags that we all should be wary of.
