M151A1 Project For Sale

Unread post by rwdfresno » August 8th, 2015, 3:44 pm

Well I hate to do this but I'm going to sell this project that I've been hoping to get back to for several years. I don't want to be that guy that keeps a wonderfully restorable M151A1 from being all it can be. Luckily I have an incredibly original M151A2 to keep me warm at night.

$3000 OBO - email ryanwdavis@yahoo.com for more information.

A restoration was begun several years ago. I had to move out of the country for work and so I had to abandon this project. The project started as a complete vehicle that was disassembled for restoration. The body was sandblasted, primed and all parts stored indoors. I live quite a way's distance from where this is stored in central California but my father can show it to interested parties. We can also have some specific pictures taken for those who are seriously interested and might not be able to make it out to see it.

Although, it's not easy to see through the layers of dust, this body is VERY solid. The underside cross-members, transmission support, floor boards, etc are very solid and would make an excellent candidate for a top notch restoration without requiring ripping out panels and re-welding like so many of these old MUTTs do. It does have the typical lower-rear panel holes from rust but it is still extremely solid and repairable. It did have ROPs installed at one point but it was a very clean installation. The tops of the fenders have very clean round holes and the rear render support was cut but I have these supports that were removed from a donor body.

Looks like a winner!. It's a shame I just bought my A2 in Ojai.A replacement rear panel and very minor patch work would yield a great truck. And only $3k??

Come on, someone!

Rick, yes, my father is quite the collector with some pretty eclectic tastes.

Jim, thanks. I really want to see it restored so I priced it to move.

All, my dad took some pictures o the underside and he found an area on the underside transmission support that I didn't recall. There are definitely some areas that were attached by rust and now have holes form the sandblasting, My apologies on the description of that area. I'm working on having him get some better pictures of the area that will show both sides so you get the full picture.

thanks
Ryan
