Hey rickf
I do not have an extra barrel or the glove but, I do offer for free a Farmers Tool Supply 1964 M122 Tri Pod thats probably worth $700 bucks or so.And yes the barrel does come off the same way the real one does.
The 151 may be out of most people's price range but you have to admit one like this doesn't show up that often and hope your'e at least enjoying the pics.

I think it is worth the price, might be a while before finding someone that wants to pay it but I bet I know one person that may be looking. I certainly cannot afford it but I do enjoy the pictures.

Re: 1970 Ford M151-A2
I,m a non motivated seller at this point,Ijust don't drive it and want to keep it in it's current condition, honestly it has not been washed in 20 years ,just dusted off or by an air gun and under side was wiped down with clean towels and WD40.If I had the nice big garage I would hold on to it and I still might. It just sits under covers with a trickle charge and a once in a while start up .It needs to be propally displayed and it's a shame if it isn't.I now have a couple M38 a1's I drive all around town and in the woods and now I know how much I missed real MV driving.A good friend who also is a MUTT fanatic told me the day I purchaced this that I wouldn't drive it and he was abselutely right. If I don't sell it ,it's not the end of the world.
Thanks for reading.

Re: 1970 Ford M151-A2
We are restoring a 1970 Ford. Great restoration. Question, why did you use an A1 gas tank? Did all 1970 jeeps originally have A1 fuel tanks or is it just what you had on hand? Would it be ok if we used your photos as a guide?

Re: 1970 Ford M151-A2
Thee A2 did not use emissions until around 73. There is no fuel pump in there.

Re: 1970 Ford M151-A2
Further to what Rick said all Fords had the A1 style tank with a engine mounted fuel pump. The pickup plate is completely different than th A1 because there was no need for the intank fuel pump
If you have emissions style tanks on the two Fords you have then probably they arent Fords or at least they were heavily modified:
That A1,style tank was also used on the first run of AMGs .
later run had emissions style tanks .
By the way Gargiulos A2 is Not a restoration . It is as new # 19 of the first run.
Hope some of this info is helpful

Re: 1970 Ford M151-A2
It's some times hard for people to imagine this is not restored and I showed certain folks a couple of spots where the paint peeled and it's shiny bare steel and the paint peel still had the red primer. This MUTT was stored in a garage for years and was kept out of the weather. It's civilian life was also the same. The guy I bought from was even more anal than I am with it.

Kubotaman, your'e welcome to use the pics for referance and I have no problem if you and who ever you want to come with you to stop by and see the Ford in person.I think if I'm not mistaken you only live 45 minutes from me.Other than a couple rubber hoses and filters you will see what an original early A2 looks like.

Sounds good, I will talk to my grandfather and let you know. We have been talking about doing this restoration just like it came off the assembly line.
