M151 Fire Wall and Dash

Unread post by Vzike » April 2nd, 2016, 2:58 pm

I just disassembled an M151A1 front clip. The firewall and dash are in pretty good condition. I'm going to remove the remaining items from it (wiring harness, heater, guages, etc).

If anyone is interested in the firewall or dash, let me know.

Some other things you shoulld scavenge. Windshield hinges, Steering assy.. And the inner fenders if they are not rusted where they meet the frame. That is what I need, the inner fenders. You are just too far away for me though. Someone else may have the same problem.

I'm stripping everything off it. I need the forward frame members to repair that 151 I have. One side on that is cut off and replaced with angle iron, and the other is almost rusted off.

I may even use the dash for that M151 I have with the holes cut in it for the stereo. They should match up pretty close, don't you think?

The dash should be a perfect match, they were all the same. Check the inner fenders on your other ones, they rust right where they meet the rails. If you are not planning to save the dash end panels, which are separate from the main dash and fenders, then cut a hole in the side panel so you can access the back of the screws for the hinges and that way you can heat or spray them and get the screws out without drilling them. Remember, they are not making A1 hinge halves anymore. I see the passenger side already has a hole and patch.
