WTB 151A2 Brake Drum FOUND!

Unread post by 1943ht » July 2nd, 2017, 2:21 am

Working on my 151A2 project and was swapping out tires when I pulled the right rear wheel, found that the brake drum was missing. Just pulled this project out of storage a couple of months ago and as I'm working to get it in running condition which has been accomplished but I can't drive it without that drum.

Prefer used in decent shape but will also consider NOS.

My Zip is 86305, Prescott AZ.

Mark

Wow! Wonder what led to that. Bad drum, rust, ?? Even I would notice a left-over part like a brake drum after servicing..... I'd gloss over the various nuts and springs, but a drum?

Jim, I have two of these M151A2's that I bought from a friend in GA in 2011. They had been demilled but we're uncut and dirt cheap price wise ... probably someone stripped stuff off of them before turning them in to be scrapped out. Both old Marine Corp TOW Jeeps.

Have a brakedrum now thanks to BazookaJoe!

That was something that I did notice, the brakes shoes and hardware are in great shape and now that I have her running, the engine sounds like a Swiss Watch. ...and I would know what that sounds like being a Horologist (Watchmaker) by trade now that I'm retired from the Army
