Master Cylinder Line Fitting Needed

Unread post by m75 » March 30th, 2018, 10:33 am

Looking for the brass item, "Connector, Multiple", part# 8754571. From the -34P, Figure 85, Item# 6. Mine was apparently damaged when transferring from the original master cylinder to the replacement, and leaked badly yesterday when attempting to bleed the brakes. I have sourced the copper washers already, and the banjo bolt is fine.

If you think it’s tight give it another tug.
Had a drip from mine and I had to tug several times to have it stop.

Ya know, it's the brakes...... I have sourced the copper washers and the connector itself, just waiting for the connector to arrive. I tried substituting other copper washers but they were thicker than the standard ones. When the connector was still leaking at the washer area, I pulled the connector and fluid fitting again. The copper washers had faint striation lines from being squeezed onto the connector, which would normally have substantial lines pressed onto the washer. I guess the trial replacements turned out to be too thick compared to the originals, and they needed to be thinner to permit the compression lines to form. My best guess. When the new connector arrives, it's back to bleeding and adjusting.
