Did that, then about 20 min after hitting 'send', hubby calls telling me that the motor-pool at work found a headlight for him.

No worries though, I figure they don't last forever and he'll need new ones again eventually. We'll just have some spares for awhile. ;)

Three vehicles, Six headlights in the space of 4 months. One of them was my Mutt and one was my pickup with Silverstar bulbs.

Ahh, then I should watch out. We have 3 non-military vehicles (one of which already needs a headlight) & 2 military vehicles (one of which has NO headlights at all, and the other burned one out).

Maybe I should invest in a Headlight company.

Kevin Emdee at Star Electric. He's near Ft. Knox.

He might be at Mid Ohio and I would bet that will be a good place to find some headlamps. There is also Rapco, Front Line, Franks Surplus, TNJ Murray the all sell mill standard 24V head lamps. Also try Epay... :)

It's a little known fact that headlights are supposed to be yellow. Defective "clear" bulbs are offered for sale all the time

No self respecting mutt would be seen in public with yellow headlights lol ... they were reserved for the french mutts.

Hehe... not entirely true. I have pictures of them in service in VN with yellow headlights. I am pretty sure the french had all left VN by the time we got there.
