M151 Rims and Tires in So Cal

Unread post by m75 » June 11th, 2015, 10:39 pm

Looking for five serviceable rims and tires in the Los Angeles area, to fit an M151.

Also quote for take-off coil springs, front and rear, for M151A2.

I'd like to pick up,as the shipping would be sunstantial.

Well, after no responses, I did some more on-line shopping and found relatively good prices at Summit Racing, where the Firestone Coker 7:00x16 tires are listed at 132.00. The tubes and liners are extra, but shipping is free for the package.

Memphis Truck had an ebay listing for four new rims at 100.00 for the lot, plus shipping, so altogether it will be not as bad an experience ($-wise) as I feared.

They aren't. They tend to leak air around the rivets. Owners have welded/sealed the rivets and "made" them tubeless but that's a decision for you to take.

After driving M151s for 13 years on the Gov't dime, plusowning one for about seven years, my only experiences have been with tires with tubes (and flaps). The idea of tubeless never seemed to come up. BTW, I now have the tires and wheels I orignally asked for in the beginning of this thread, only they're new. Memphis Equipment and Summit Racing.
