WTB: M151A1 or A2 Wiring Harness

Unread post by Butterscotch » January 31st, 2016, 11:08 pm

Looking for a good used wiring harness, 25A generator style.
I would settle for just the front harness if I had to.
Thanks in advance.

I have two M-151A2 NOS rear harnesses for $45.00 each. If you are wanting to use it on an A1, then you use the electric wiper motor wire to run the fuel pump instead. Kevin.

Thanks Kevin, definitely interested, let me secure a front harness after I figure out if I should swap to an alternator and I will let you know.

No problem converting the A1 to A2 wiring. You to make two basic changes for the engine. You need a 60 amp alternator (I have a good tested take out available) and replace the engine and alternator pulleys to the three belt ones. My A1 with the 60 amp alternator was slipping under load. Rickf told me to swap out to the 3 belts and bingo... no alternator slipping.

There are some other things you will need to deal with the A2 harness in an A1. The signal light wires may need to be extended, and there is no wire for the electric fuel pump. You can repurpose the windshield wiper motor to the fuel pump. Other than that... It works really well.
