Earlies in Action/Field

Unread post by Surveyor » September 18th, 2018, 9:36 pm

I saw this interesting slide of an early in Nam currently on ebay … 2D 9239. Image title states Nov. 1969. This is a reduced image. Unfortunately I can't make out the text just behind the driver on larger version.

If you click on the picture it opens in a new window and if you click it again it doubles in size, still can't read it since the resolution just isn't there.

I reduced the original so it looked better on the site, the right side was getting cut off on my screen.

my first observation is....it looks like at one of the air strips we ( seabees ) built in VN...looks like some of the equipment we used, including a rock crusher on site....still, a bit fuzzy tho. Just a thought....Seabee

I showed this to my apple computer expert, to see if she could do something to read the words on the left rear fender, no, the photo is of too poor quality to do so.But she still wants me to buy a new laptop(mine is 10 years old)

Edit - Changed subject so thread covers images of early/straight 151's in the field while in service.

While technically an A1 variant, these pics of a1C's in 65 had to be some of the first since they started in 64.
