That's why I'm buying while I can, soon I will have to sell something before I can purchase others but I will have more time to stare at my junk.

You are going to have to sell a lot of stuff just to be able to buy the obsolete parts you need to fix some of them up. It cost me 127.00 for a rebuild kid the the carbs on my 98 Gold Wing. Have not been able to find kits for my VT1100 Shadow.

The rust never sleeps in the south, I'm going to sell most of my stuff after I retire, just keep a few jeeps and bikes, going to let my kids decide what to keep.

Junk?!!
I NEVER buy JUNK.
I NEVER buy JUNK.
Re: Barn Find
Dad taught me the value of 'sweat equity'.
It was often said (and rightly so) that the Smiths only went to the dump for pick-ups.
After all, one man's trash is another man's treasure.
Many of us older fellas had parents that grew up during the depression and a world at war.
Being raised by folks who learned at an early age how to make do on very little, I find I can get along quite nicely, even when things are tight.
Junk? Nope....it sure ain't junk.

Unless you live in my town! THEY consider it junk! and I do NOT live anywhere close to in a high class area!!! Ask Hambone, Horst or Richard, they have all been here. So was Mr. Recovery but he was just blowing through for a pickup.

Re: Barn Find
Niiiiice. I had one and it was my very first motorized vehicle. Best gift I ever received or will EVER receive. Had I known then the implications of jumping stumps on a 'hard tail' minibike, I never would have treated her so badly..(ended up breaking the frame)..but Evil Knievel was a thing right around that time and sadly, young boys of the period were just gonna do what young boys do. Simpler times, I suppose.
Cheers,

Re: Barn Find
It was my first bike also, got it in 1970, I was rough on mine also, I remember my dad had to weld the frame after a couple years. My neighbor got a new one in 1972, it had rear shocks, man was I jealous, plus his was a little faster, still love the old hard tails though.m3a1 wrote: ↑April 3rd, 2021, 11:11 pmNiiiiice.
