How do those thing steer? Clutch brake and ? Second question are they trcky to operate. Problematic? Looks like a bunch of fun. Parts must be hard to come by.

they steer just like a truck, they have an open rear end. No problem to operate all and they don't steer to hard either...Parts are everywhere , but just like our jeeps the price is on the rise....still a lot of fun...HTN

Hey HTN,
Now how can anyone not know you have OD fever. Is it just
impossible to stop on flat ground, or do they climb hills well too?
Very cool truck! How about a Baio's type movie of that thing
running in the spring?

Careful

Unread post by Rainman » December 19th, 2007, 4:38 pm

I like wet an muddy, but that is usually flat. But maybe not down in the
mountain state. It can't be near as heavy as a tank, can it HTN?

I'm already working on a place to park the trailer! Careful what you ask
for HTN, cause Rainman might show up. If not on a trailer, I'd have
to resort to those old stories about "readin, writin, & Rt #21". Mapquest
says it's just over 200 mile from my house to parade central. Heck, that's
even possible on a single tank of gas, one way of course. The idea is kinda
growin on me now. Maybe take Toby as a passenger. The rear of
the parade geez , is that where you put out of town guests? Don't count me
out HTN, it could happen!

M151 question: Is 400 miles round trip too far to drive an M151A2 for a parade?

Hey HTN

That is the first time I have seen your halftrack. Looks good. You must have sold a lot of sets of ROPS netting. 8) 8) 8)

Raymond, this is a work in progress. It is far from finished, but it does run and stop almost where I want it to  This project is like burning your dough. I guess I will sell the dog next, I've had him ten years, but he's just not pullin' his weight around here. and if you need spare webbing/netting let me know  ...HTN...

Don't get your thumbs inside the steering wheel when off roading...They have a tendency to snap back and break thumbs!
There is one nut on a M151 that is very difficult to remove.....
