Seeing those quads in their element makes me wonder what my M274 Mule would do
I got this one fully restored. it is 4 wheel drive, 2 cylndr air cooled. Has the last mods from its service days, an electric starter, alternator and battery.

We had them in VN , and used them to take crews out to the flight line, haul rockets and guns.... this is the one my gunship platoon used- I am the very young Captain sitting next to the driver- this is good pic as everyone in it made it back to the states after their tours

Great pic! I like the racing slicks on the mule, I'll bet it handled thosehigh speed turns well. :P You didn't stuff an APU engine under that thing did you?

that would have been a good idea, an APU mutt. For the Air Force maybe! {APU = Aux Power Unit, a mobile generator that supplies outside power to an aircraft for starting - and in the Air Force, air conditioning. It is usually mounted on cart. } Our reliable Hueys never needed one as i recall, of course we flew them every day so dead batteries were rare.
as far as the tires- i think they must have been 'borrowed' from the USAF.

not only ate good, rick, {hey we had to pay for our all meals, though} but I had a hooch maid.... and if i made it back to my private room at the base at night, i had clean sheets, and ac even very cool, stolen { er,, borrowed} plywood walls which a blow torch made to look like a real paneled room. I am not even guilty today about it. did i forget to mention my fridge?
