Found these looking at pics on military photos.

check out the footman loops on the windshield, also it's an early windshield on an A1.

Anyone know what the cone is on the back of these jeeps?

Hi !

As the sign on the windshields reads "Combat Control Team" these guys were attached to the US Air Force. An explanation of their duties can be found at http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/United_Sta ... ntrol_Team

The cone at the right rear corner is an antenna. Also noté the amount of Comms-gear in the back of the vehicle on the first picture.

Hope this helps.

Tore pressure does say 36, probably because of all of the radios and gear. The square mirrors are definitely there but when was that picture taken?

Cool pics. I love seeing little variations like the ones discussed. I have shamelessly stolen them for my MUTT pictures folder.
