Re: But, Dear...It Followed Me Home
The data plate says 3/67. It came with two blackout lights on the front fenders, there are no turn signals, the hood does not have a notch for the turn signal on the passenger side, and early style strap holder, front seat adjusters are early style, button on the parking brake handle, gas tank has been coated and two slots for windshield defroster.

Re: But, Dear...It Followed Me Home
Hi Ralf,
Nice FIND for 5$ Clearly your new Toy has some early STRAIT M151 parts on it. The winshield has the VERY EARLY Defroster Louver vents !----VERY Hard to Find ! Also the 3 ribbed/chevron Hood With it having the early seat frames and the Pushbutton Parking brake, I would put this more towards 1965. The Bud # will tell the story. My 65 I restored had many of the older parts on it as well. So, I think personally it is an early A1. Body and underside/belly is awsome:) Nice to see an early OD painted engine and early regulator-again OD and not in Black.
Enjoy the Resto-MORE PICS Rear and suspension -Please

Re: But, Dear...It Followed Me Home
Ralf,
As a Former owner of a 1965 and 2 1967's and a 1963 Strait M151 I have an eye for certain things. If it is going to be an early " 63" then I need to see pics of the front suspension and rear -up close. CURVED KNUCKLE covers-front on strait 151. The other KEY factor here is the RIBS on the REAR FLOOR!!!!!!!!!!! ONLY the STRAIT M151 had the SPACING between the ribs-FRONt to REAR.. ALL A1's and 2s had Complete raised Ribs-Front to Rear, NO EXCEPTIONS !
Also worth noting, on the PASSENGER side , the REAR SHOVEL HOLDING TABS are removed-ONLY Strait M151 had these. Also, need is a PIC of her ASS END-B/O lite and some of the FOOTMAN LOOP placements. Plus the BRAKE and CLUTCH Pedals are clearly A1 type used. Again, I am around 1965. My Opinion only
Also,if thsi is an early girl, she will have the OLD style CONTROL BOX mounted underneath the consul, above the hi beam switch. Used with the early TURN Signal setup.

Re: But, Dear...It Followed Me Home
Ralf,
One More Point. If it is earlier than 1964-( TRANSITION YEAR ) It would have a KAISER BODY TAG-FOIL and NOT a BUDD Tag-Fords

Re: But, Dear...It Followed Me Home
For all, clearly this is a vehicle we are all going to disect. It clealrly has EARLY strait M151 parts and the 2 defroster vents. But, there are to many A1 features. It is ALL in the Body. If it has the spaced Floor Ribs, and also the OVAL FLOOR DRAINS--- It is an Early M151 with A1 parts attached to her. But I am thinking the opposite as it has a BUDD tag on it. No one would go through the effort to to put one on, as they are a B--ch to get of without ruining them-those studs. We will hopefully NOT Condem this vehicle and persecute the owner as what happened with Dave G's A2. I was a bit annoyed at how that all took place. I also know this man, learning the trade. But, comon guys. It sounded like everyone had a Bad long winter-cabin fever and NO NOOKY and Venting . Lets KEEP this GROUP UNITED and NOT DIVIDED-

Re: But, Dear...It Followed Me Home
Dave, BUDD tags are not put on with studs, they are tack welded at the corners. Although I agree that it would not be done it would be very easy to take one off and put it on another and make it look like it never happened. I also tried to stop the flaming of daves ride but then I was "Corrected" so I will no longer play peace maker. If anyone flames Ralph though I will be looking for them!!!!

Re: But, Dear...It Followed Me Home
Hi Rick,
I agree with you on the Budd tags to an extent. Both my 1967s had the tags corner welded. My 1965 was NoT. It came from Ft. Irwin, Ca. My 1965 Budd tag had 2 centered pressed studs into the Body. This was the way it came. All 4 corners were strait and clean with no welds. This tag was never played with and it was what came on it. March of 1965 from Ken, many years ago. Again, the studs were half way down the side, each had a raised halfmoon head. They were like a wall molley in design/concept. Maybe this needs to be researched as well -Help Ken.
Anyways, I am Glad we need to KEEP THE PEACE on Mooses site.

one thing i've learned above everything else regarding mutts is there are no absolutes.... there have been exceptions to just about every rule.
