Re: My Mutt on the road in Vietnam
Sorry guy's you have to blame the camera or the lighting but the road in the first photo was not as flat as it looks it was covered in big potholes and the ride to the end of it was pretty uncomfortable, granted there were no mud filled holes I'll probably have to go deep country to try and find those. Anyway I can assure you that the jeep, the trees alongside the road and anything within 5m of the edge of the road was a reddish brown. The infrastructure is improving all the time here in fact it is going faster than people can take advantage of it. There are area's where there are towns and cities planned where the streets, lighting, landscaping and drainage have been installed years ago but there are no houses in sight and it is all getting over grown, there are acres of land like this. I grab a shot next time I am out.

Re: My Mutt on the road in Vietnam
John, I actually like the door bling too (Seabee Likes it also) and almost keep the set off Miss Saigon except when I took one off the metal underneith was a mess so I left them on to sell her. They are pratcial and do look good. If you can find a few sets I would like to bring them home during my next visit. Now that last set of roads look real fun!

Re: My Mutt on the road in Vietnam
Clell,
I will be in Saigon on Saturday her indoors is taking me to the Doctors under the pretext of having my chest checked out but I reckon she is wanting to see if they can find away to break my love affair with my mutt, I think she is feeling spurned and rejected Seriously though apart from my visit to the Doc's I am planning to buy a spare engine to give me something to play with when I retire in a year or two. The guy I am getting it from sells a lot of Mutt stuff so I will ask him if he can get me some door trims. Trouble is the cost of stuff here is rising as the demand for jeeps increases I am starting to notice that you guys in the states are paying a lot less for most of the stuff I can get here. However having said that there are still some bargains.
I'll be in touch when I have some more info on it.
Regards
John

No ear rings or tattoos on me.

Re: My Mutt on the road in Vietnam
Looking at pics of you driving your m151 around in Vietnam...unarmed...and in perfect confidence of remaining in good health over it... is sureal for me.. I am working through the concept that things simply have morphed a lot in 40+ years. I was told once that most of what I would have recognized there...is long gone. I recall standing on a beach in Nha Trang, thinking..."What a great place for luxury hotels and resorts..." 40 years ago... Yes things change.
