I would be unfortunately over gross weight doing it. Max weight I am legally allowed is 7.49 metric tons. Empty is 6.5.

Re: the new addition
Can't you use a trailer for the Mutt, e.g. the M101? With the old drivers license for class "3" this combination is allowed, I think. Or what about a tandem trailer. I see many trucks with tandem trailers to carry wheel loaders because of the same gross load weight problem. Well, it does not fit 100% perfect, but you can go with both and drive both at the same place.Horst wrote:I would be unfortunately over gross weight doing it. BTW: A very nive M35A2C May I ask from where you got it?

Re: the new addition
@Richard: no desire for more stuff, so a trailer is not an option. Got it from Army Cars.
@Rick: need to add driver and fuel, then it is no longer close...

Hi Horst,
that is an awsome truck! Where did you get that from?
And are you from Munich directly?

Re: the new addition
hello Fabian,
Yes, in Munich. The area were you live was quite active in MVs some years ago. The local jeep club called itself the Big Red One as far as I remember. Not sure if they still exist, never heard of them again.
That is my second attempt with a M35. I had a M35A2c with winch and hardtop, so same like this one. But other than an excellent engine, it was extremely rusty. I sold it beginning of the year without driving it very much. On the new one I put last weekend more miles than on the other one in 9 months. This one was never used after sold from the Army. Makes it low miles (7k), but of course prone to start leaking everywhere. Oil pressure is also not the best I have seen. But I don't have to do any cosmetic work, nothing wrong doing it, but with the size of these trucks just too much time consuming. I have a NOS hardtop and a NOS cargo cover on it, some new CARC paint makes it look ok. Underside is not as pretty, but very little rust.
The other one drove me nuts. Let's see what happens with this one.

Re: the new addition
Hi Horst,
I know the Big red one. But they stopped. I still hang out with some of the guys and we will be at the civilian car meeting at the beginnig of July in Brannenburg. There will be a couple of MV also. Actually I try to gather MV folks from our area. Maybe you also want to join.
From the pictures the truck looks absolutely great but if it has been reconditioned by the Army than this is another story. In anyway if you keep it moving things will not be that bad. I think the problems start when you let it sit for a while. And working on a Reo is a different thing than working on a Mutt. I helped a buddy of mine restoring one and things are just big. But it was fun.

Pictures lie. Cars look always better than they are in reality.
Oh yes, Brannenburg. Spend my Army days there. PM or email me the details.
