Hello from Germany with a A2

Unread post by Snoop » July 22nd, 2012, 2:02 pm

Hello All!

just found this interesting board and want to say hi to everyone.
I live in Germany near Frankfurt and since a couple of months I have a, what you call, "Barstow" M151 A2.

OK, the seat covers are repro parts, so the colour is a little much to "grass-green".
Just mounted a big orange rotating beacon and covered it with a selfmade piece of nylon for german cops :D
Looking forward to get and give help.

Ciao

Welcome to the 838, we seem to be getting a lot of Germans lately. You guys need to start a club of your own over there.

Welcome aboard Snoop - SNOOPY here...

Nice and clean example you have there!

I see Snoopy on the side of the vehicle, and I just love it. It is also the name Iof my a1.
It will have the same image on it once we're done restoring it.

Enjoy summer and take the top off whenever you can.

Thank you all for the very warm welcome!

Maybe I should bore you with some more pictures?
In fact we all have the same hobby, so let me introduce my little olive-green fleet to you:

1974 Volkswagen Kübel 181 (Thing)

1976 Volvo TGB 11 (C-303) swedish army

1991 Puch 230 GE (G-Wagon) swiss army

1981 Volkswagen Iltis (it all began with him)

And they all wear the "Snoopy" sticker at the fender!

Rick, a German or an European chapter? I have an idea, need more time ... discussed this beside the forum with Ken.

The problem is, we'll never meet at the same time at the same place. Also Europe is large.

Jim, what about a nice map (e.g. Google) with stickers on it to see from where we Mutt-Lovers are coming. That would be interesting. How do you think?
