Very Happy with my mechanic today

Unread post by Mr. Recovery » February 23rd, 2013, 9:00 pm

:D I am a happy camper today!! As some of you know, I picked up a 77 Harley Sportster about 2 years ago, yes! it has been that long, well today I put the last part back on the motor and fired it up, after some ajustments to the timing it stoped back fireing and ran like a Harley! :o  I only ran it about 15 minutes and burned my hand and arm 3X!!  Now I hope it don't take 2 years to put the frame back together!

I knew you would see that! :P The photos were taken "after" I cleaned it up, it was like a flash back of when I started the mutt motor and the oil filter blew up! I couldn't mount the gererator, part of the run up/build stand I made was in front of the mounting hole, It was like dumping oil into a fan!  :D

It is going to leak from around the starter no matter what you do. And the primary will most likely leak also.

A little update on the Harley, I finally have it "all" back together, :D everything is working except the turn signals, I'll need to open the headlight houseing back up and check the wires, you think the 151 wireing is hard to follow, I'll post a photo or 2 when I get it opened. :? I took it for a short run up and down the street to check the transmission for the 1st time and it didn't throw me off so, I must have put it back together right!

Now that I have something fun to ride I can get back to work on the 151. :D
