Mutt - getting tears in your eyes

Unread post by richard » April 16th, 2013, 6:11 pm

Hi Folks,

Found this Mutt a couple of weeks ago in The Netherlands. For which purpose was this MV used?

Tires are not 7.00-16, they are 6.50-16.

Take care of your Mutt. May it never end like this one.

Richard, it looks like an M825 recoilless rifle carrier version.

How was it used?

Looks to me like it was used for artillery practice!

Richard I have an A1 in my garage that looks just like that, probably worse as its back is also broken, I originally bought it for spares. However last week I had the guy who restores my jeeps have a look at it and he reckons he can rebuild the body and chassis for under $2000 so watch this space. :D :D

John,

I think the problem is that you cannot compare the price for a working hour in Nam with the cost of a working hour in Western Europe. Nevertheless, nice idea or good for someone who has the time to do it by himself.

I saw one like that once in Germany.
A guy from 32nd armor stole an M60 tank.
The MP s tried a road block. Needless to say the guy got the full measure 11 yrs in levanworth
That's not all the damage he did

Noted Richard and fair comment but none the less it will still be a challenge to put it back on the road I think. Mind you there might be a business opportunity here for those who want low cost good replacement panels but don't need them to be factory/machine perfect. I just need to figure out how to get the shipping price down :D :D .
