My M109 and other bits

What you see here is exactly as it came from GL.

I think I finally got some of my tax money back with this purchase.

And now for something completely different -

This was pulled by the 109 in the Christmas Parade last year. You know how NORAD tracks Santa. Well, you're looking at our version of a portable RADAR station for tracking the Big Guy. It looked awesome with the blinky lights on it.

My M109 and other bits

Lucky you. Looks great. Only thing I would do is changing the headlights to the high position. Looks better to me. But that's just my opinion.

I bought that truck while I was in Afghanistan and and a buddy back home actually put eyes on it for me. Come to think of it, I bought my Alley Cat while I was in Afghanistan!

Annnnnyway, the only thing wrong with the 109 was it had been manhandled by the fork lift operators who managed to destroy both tail lights, one tail light mounting bracket and a metal mud guard. The tail light bracket was a bear to straighten but apply enough heat and even the biggest piece of steel will yield.

And here is a very important point for those who haven't crossed this particular bridge….those two bolts that hold the tail-light assembly?…they're both independent grounds for the circuits involved. I uttered some colorful metaphors until I figured that out.

Compliments, great find :!: 8) The M109 looks really great, like new. Would like to see my M35A2 in the same condition, which is still under restoration. I think the headlights of yours are correct in this position as long as there is no winch installed. Horst's Deuce had a winch, mine is having a winch and the headlights are in the upper position.

I have always wanted a 109 and then that damn preppers show came on the the prices went way up. I missed out on a really good one for 1200.00 and since then they just got to far out of sight. Now you have these issues with the EPA to worry about.

Really? How is the EPA involved?

No wait! Let me guess. We have to submit an environmental impact statement with each purchase?

You have not seen the latest stunt from the DOT and Govt. Liquidators? ALL military tactical vehicle sale sales have been halted due to the clean air act. Seems most of the military vehicles are not EPA legal. If you have an exemption sticker on your engine then you are alright but a lot of the Later pre A3 deuces are not legal. As well as a lot of the newer tricks.

They're really sucking all the fun out of my life. On the other hand, the value of my truck just went WAY up!

WOW! Nice 109!
I miss mine from way back in the day. Mount an AC/heater on a sliding rack to pop out from the front and it's the PERFECT off road camper!
We modified ours a bit.
A small fold up deck on the back with a pipe hoop to hang canvas from makes a perfect shower area. You can get creative when you live outt'a one for 45 days at a stretch and you work in a welding shop!

Again, nice rig!

I was thinking the same thing, I would probably route that behind the axle somewhere.
