Rick,
I'll be there also. Been attending the East Coast Rally since it began in the 70's. Are you guys staying at the Super 8 again? That's where I'll be.

Hey Rick,

Just got off the phone with the Super 8 and have a double, nosmo, reserved for the 21st and 22nd. What time do the doors open, and should I plan to drive in a day earlier for a "night before" party? With the superior class of "The 8 Forum" I'm not sure if there is a wine tasting, or formal dinner planned the evening of the 20th. :D I know Bob Amon helps to organize a meal on the 21st.

I did reserve a double in case one of you guys gets left out in the cold or needs a place to crash. If somebody needs it let me know. I'll PM my cell number to anyone planning to go so we can get together during the show, as I'll need other's cell numbers as well.

I'm in!

Rainman, Glad to see you are coming. I usually get there around ten but I may be following Bob down in his A2 which will slow me down quite a bit. Some of the vendors show up on Wed. but that is just to set up. I would say that if you get there by lunchtime on the 21st you will not miss anything. Our dinner has been replaced by the one that Cabell Garbee puts on. I have not heard from him this year but I will check.

Just checked mapquest and I've got 400 miles for the trip, which for me these days is almost 8 hours with a food and a fuel stop. I'll have to wait and see how I'm feelin, but an 8 hr drive to start a busy first day at Aberdeen may not work well if any hard partyin might take place Thursday night. Not sure about you other guys, but hard partyin is still pretty much the norm for me. :) So far it's just me and "George Dickle" makin the trip from here. He's not good company for the drive, but after I get there we'll be inseparable. :D I'll need to wrap it up around noon or 2:00 on Saturday and head home to make it back in time for last minute parade preparations. That's the plan for now.

Hey guys!
I'm going to try and make it up there for Thursday the 21st. Unfortunatly, I can only spend the day there as I've got a lot going on that weekend and there's something that might even screw me out of this APG event :x . Only time will tell. If I make it, I look forward to meeting with some of you who do show up.
Regards,
WC

I was just at TJ Murrays a little while ago talking to John. He told me he is only renting 8 spots this year instead of 16. He figures that since it is Memorial day weekend it is going to be dead. I also understand that they eliminated two full rows of vendor spots! This is taking an ominous downward spiral! It is a lousy weekend to have a show, A lot of people already have holiday commitments and parades to attend. I can see this becoming the last year if they decide to keep this weekend!

Yes I agree. If it was a little later in the year, a lot more people could attend (maybe). I think it was held around this time due to the fact that the Aberdeen show used to be held on the proving grounds property and coinside with armed forces day. With the show being moved off base, the organizers could pick a different weekend to have the show.
I had heard that the reason for the rally being held the weekend it was scheduled was because the stadium had something going on the weekend the show was originally planed for. Anyone heard of this?

Regards,
Matt

I just went to the events web page and they have changed everything! I see no parking for tow rigs let alone much for public. I called and e-mailed about where to park my rig but I got no reply's last year on some questions so I don't expect to get any this year. This is definitely my last year! :(

From what was being talked about Aberdeen at the MTA show last week it might be the last show at the stadium seems like there playing games with the club that has it, anyway I'll be there with my 38A1 its like a farewell tour of sorts for it. :(

BTW, to anyone else who's going this year, have a safe and pleasant trip to the show.
