Yes it is, I was the only mutt there last year. It is a Steel Soldiers meet so there are a lot of big trucks but the organizer of the meet has extended the invitation to our group as well. There are a couple of trail ride that are jeeps only, the trails are too tight and steep for the big trucks. These are mostly gravel access roads and pose no real threat to our vehicles. You will get dusty and if it rains there will be surface mud but these roads are rocky so there is no deep mud.

Rick, anyone else planning to attend this year? It's only 4 hours from me so maybe I will attend if I can fit it in around my work travel schedule. Looks like a lot of fun!

Clell, I haven't heard of anyone else but me from our group so I would have to say no but I just posted this so we will see. Be glad to have you there. 40.00 a person for 6 days, can't beat it. That price is for camping, there is lodging available at the Graves mountain resort but I don't know the prices. This trip also includes one of Cabell Garbee's famous dinners.

Hey Clell,
I've met Cabell Garbee and had the good fortune to have shared in one of his feasts. The meal itself is worth the $40, so the camping and trail ride is pure bonus. At the Alliance, Ohio event last month Cabell's Aberdeen feast of southern BBQ was a subject of conversation with fond memories. I thought it was pork, though Rick had to remind me that it was turkey. Makes my mouth water just thinking about it. In those trail ride pictures Rick, is there a reason the little woman was in the back seat :?

The missus was in the back because Pete from Steel Soldiers was riding shotgun, he had a deuce and this was NOT a deuce trail, and he had he camera. He would jump out and run ahead to get some of those nice shots. I wish I could remember Petes last name, there are some cabins up there that as we came up on them Pete remembered he had rebuilt a couple of them many years ago. Just to verify he climbed under one to look for names of the crew that did the work. They had routed their names in a floor beam! They were there, unfortunately my camera was a long ways away in the mutt. I will get that picture for him this year even if he is not there.

Rain, I went to his BBQ at Aberdeen, your right, one heck of a good meal and good comrad's. I would really like to make the VA deal but Sept is a big month for me, schools starts for the kidds and I have to leave for Asia on 9/11 so its looking like I will not be able to make it. Looks like the type of event every Mutter would love to attend, trail riding, camping, just the kind of thing our mutts were made to do :)
