M151A1 Fuel and Vent routes

Unread post by SturmTyger380 » November 20th, 2015, 3:15 pm

I have not much time to work on the M151 (or look for the M416 Trailer handles for Vzike).

I was poking around under the hood. This M151A1 had the A2 fuel pump retrofitted. Right now the fuel line runs from the driver’s side of the transmission area to the passenger side fender where there is a clamp holding it.

Here is where it looks like it got hacked into. Then it goes by flexible line to the pump and from the pump via a hard line to a really cool old school gas filter and then the carburetor.

I am trying to find a picture of the correct routing of the fuel line. The manuals did not help.

Also I could use pictures of the A1 the vacuum line routing as they are just all lying loose in the engine compartment. The wipers are hooked up to the intake manifold at the rear of the manifold.

Not sure why you posted this in the Trailer Forum.

Here are some pics I borrowed some years ago when I was doing my A1.

The fuel line on an A1 should run up the drivers side of the transmission tunnel and through the firewall and out to a 90 degree special fitting on the carb. Most conversions to the A2 pump will still go through the firewall on the drivers side and then be rerouted behind the engine and over to the pump and then use the stock A2 route from the pump to the special 45 degree fitting to the carb.

Moved to correct forum.

I posted in the trailer area by mistake. Thanks for finding and answering. Asked the moderators to move but not yet. Alan

I never got a request to move it but I did move it the on day you posted, it is now in the General forum.

OK, I just deleted the shadow on the trailer forum that would lead to here, this is the only place it shows up now.

I recently bought a M151A1 that had a aftermarket electric 24V fuel pump on it. It shortly quit working and I bought another like it and it has quit working also.
I have a spare motor which I think is a A2.
Can the fuel pump from a A2 be put on a A1. If so can someone give me some pointers on how to do it.

I am a parts changer not a mechanic so pictures would be a great help
