pictures of my 197? MUTT

Unread post by incoming » September 16th, 2016, 9:37 pm

As promised, here are pictures of my new jeep (the one I fried the solid state ignition on ) Uncut and absolutely pristine underneath. Battery tray and storage compartment had very little rust surface, which I treated with POR15. No other rust on the jeep anywhere. PRC does not work but does make some noise! Have the top and all curtains and doors, and an artic kit for the front grille. Looked like a time capsule when I got her. Had her shipped from Oregon to Louisiana where I live. The guy I bought it from has another one fort sale for about 10,000.

If only she was running! Waiting on a new solid state ignition.....danged ignition switch "on" position. Funny how that thing works when you leave it on!

Great looking jeep, I'm just 50 miles north of you, just down your way last week buying a couple GPW bodies from a member.

Get a can of spray paint and get rid of that ugly gold on the tie downs

Wow, I've found out some interesting things about my jeep from you guys. It sounds like the tie downs on the wheels did not go with the USMC bumper (didn't know it was a USMC bumper!) The tie downs and shackles were painted yellow when I bought it but I do have the correct OD green to spray over the yellow. If you guys have any other info that would help me with authenticity, it would be greatly appreciated. Not worried about making her a trailer queen, I like patina, but I want it to be accurate patina. Thanks again for the great comment guys.

My truck's patina is totally accurate. We should trade, even up!

post pictures of your engine bay and we start commenting more. But make the pics higher resolution than so far.

Just joking. What I got...you won't want!

Compared to your truck, my truck looks like it has leprosy....but it provides me with a lot of satisfaction be cause I like to tinker with things and I can take it out in the brush and have no worries.
