A2 Windshield Wiper Cover Screws
Does anyone know the correct size of the screws that hold the windshield wiper cover to the A2 Windshield?
There are 18 screws, I have 3 different sizes in mine. Most common is the 10-24 X 1/2", but some smaller ones also fit in some of the holes.
Thanks, Cal

Salt6,
Thanks for the reference to the -20. I may have to move to the next larger size screws. The screw holes in the windshield appear have been stripped out at some time.

You could put nutserts in the windshield frame if you wanted to keep it original size plus the nutserts would never strip out.

Rick,
That sounds like a good idea. What is a nutsert and where can I find them?

Grainger, Fastenal or just do a Google search for "Nutsert" and you will find lots of hits for them or things just like them. Probably Lowes or Home depot and most auto stores will have something like them. I like the Nutsert brand because I used them in work for years .

I was going to do that for you but I just went through a pretty hectic bidding process on Gov Liquidation for some shipping containers and I am fried! Taking a break from the computer for a little while.

Re: A2 Windshield Wiper Cover Screws
Rick,
I couldn't find the right size nutserts locally, so I ordered them online. Also ordered the correct 8-32 X 1/2" thread forming Phillips head screws as specified in the -20P, from Fastenal, also not available here.
Thanks for your help
CAL
Did you win the shipping containers at Gov Liq?

Re: A2 Windshield Wiper Cover Screws
You should not need thread forming screws with the nutserts that already have the threads in them. They should work no matter. And yes, I got 8 of them, finally I have waterproof storage. NOW, I have to go out to Harrisburg, Pa. to get them.

Re: A2 Windshield Wiper Cover Screws
Nice Trip.
Re: A2 Windshield Wiper Cover Screws
Long trip, 3 1/2 hours each way and probably 2 hours there doing paperwork, loading and tying down. Plus I have to try to be back in Lancaster on the way back before 4:30 to pick up a new pump for my tractor so I can unload all of this when I get home.
