Wow. That must be the gold plates heater kit. I bought a NOS kit a while back from another seller for $245 or so. I repainted all the painted parts in 383. The kit is in great shape save for the cardboard boxes being a little old.

Hot and humid! Livable but recent rains have boosted the humidity up here in the tropical Far North.

I feel sorry for all the Santas in their winter gear!!

Any thoughts on the use of a gas-fired heater and the possibility of the vinyl top and doors melting, as for the price does the M151 come with it...

The gas heater was "only" used with the Hard Top. AKA: Arctic Top/Arctic Heater Kit. :)

i remember buying an NOS heater kit, just like this one, some years back. i paid what i thought was a ridiculous price, because i suffered under the mistaken impression that it would actually heat the interior of my jeep, equipped as it was with top, sides and doors. everything was new, everything functioned as designed, and it was completely ineffective. for the small number of folks here who may not have ever installed one, they are a horrific pain in the rear. i paid $300, even though i knew it was a high price. live and learn. the person trying to sell this kit on ebay is seriously out to lunch, in my opinion.

I can't believe a gas heater would not heat the inside of a 151? I had several VW's with them and they would roast yo out and a VW Thing was not the most airtight vehicle out there. And those heaters were tiny compared to the 151 set-up.

My rig has the complete heater and with top, sides, doors on it makes a difference, not like todays cars but better than nothing. One has to remember to open the water lines, floor vents, put on a coat, gloves, hat, and drink something strong, and dont lick the metal....but it does make a difference. Having said that I have two sets available for about a 10th of his price :D
