First and foremost, do you have oil pressure? No pressure, no pump. They do not usually just quit like that but the wires have been known to break inside the tank. Th4ee pump will have to be removed to check this but be sure you have power to the pump and a good ground from the tank to the body. Scratch a little spot to bare metal and run a wire from there to the negative terminal on the batteries. Remember, it will only run when the starter is cranking or if there is oil pressure. If you have power at the pump terminal you can assume you have oil pressure and the switch is good and then is the time to check the ground.
Finding a new one is going to be a matter of calling around, e-bay' shows, the usual searching. There are not a lot of them around so they are hard to find and expensive when you do find one so go over the one you have well and see what is wrong with it.

PROBLEM SOLVED!
I removed the pump to inspect it.
Taped it with a small hammer and it worked!!!Must have been something lodged in the ball valve!.
Thanks for responding so quickly!

Are you using the filter on it? I can't picture anything stopping it like that being able to get through that filter. You might want to check the wire from the pump up to the connector. Do NOT do it anywhere near the tank! If it sparks while inside the tank with the cap on then nothing will happen because there is no oxygen but if it does it with the cap off or if you have it partially out, WHOOSH!

I remember when I rebuilt my first jeep, had to take the pump out because it wasn't working, got it cleaned up and working, put it back in, ran a jumper wire over to it to make sue it was still working in the tank, soon as I touched it to the battery it shorted out where the wire comes through the tank and held on by nut, come to find out I left out an insulator, can't believe it didn't blow.

There is not enough oxygen in a tank and that is why an electric pump is safe there. In the case of a military tank with that huge opening I would think if it sparked with the cap off it could get exciting. In 26 years as a firefighter I NEVER saw a gas tank "blow up". The movies would love to have you think they do but when they do anything it is usually a big WHOOSH followed by a lot of flaming gasoline. Now in Vietnam and I am sure back all the way to WWII the enemy would wrap rubber bands around a hand grenade and drop it in the tank after taking out the screen and run away. It did not take very long for the gas to dissolve the rubber band and then those did explode!

I piece of gasket material could clog it. It may have been that but keep in mind that the piece will be moving up the line now.
