M151A2 Exhaust hanger question.

Unread post by Badgerord » January 12th, 2017, 11:06 pm

On am M151A2, I need to fine out what the P/N or name or availability of the rear most exhaust mount that is bolted to the body.

Its the one just ahead of the joint for the short tail pipe.

Any ideas? I have looked at every manual I have access to and can't find it. Really can't find any good P/N's for the body in general.

I am p retry sure that it is a simple ubolt type bracket that hangs over the bracket that is located above.

Not the U bolt the bracket the U bolt goes on. Its attached with a single bolt to the body.

Badger.... no it isn't. That hanger bracket is welded to the body. As it was an item that needed replacing from time to time, the Mil put the repair instructions in the TM.
This paragraph will explain that you must remove the old/corroded bracket and fabricate a new one. It's attached to the body with a 5/16" bolt and locknut.
You'll find the details, in full, if you go to TM9-2320-218-20-1 dated May 1982. Download the TM from this site and then go to Para 4-50, page 4-164 to 4-166.
Hope this helps....

Thanks Ken!

Looked in the 20P and the 34P, thought I would find it in a parts diagram.

One of my other Mutts has the local fab version, that's why i thought it was factory.
