Gentlemen!
Well, it looks like I got the power plant done, and it is time to see if it will actually start...any pieces of advice or sage pieces of knowledge I should heed before I turn the start switch?
thanks!

Getting ready to start the new engine...

Re: Getting ready to start the new engine...
Put oil in! Really, just make sure the fluids are correct and as soon as you start it be sure the oil pressure comes up and then just let it idle while the temp comes up. Watch to make sure the thermostat opens at close to the right temperature on the gauge. Then go for a ride. You are not going to be beating it so just drive normally, don't lug it. Lugging an engine in too low of a gear is the worst thing you can do but on the other hand there is no reason to make it scream either, use common sense and all will be good.

I assume all those mating surfaces were properly lubed on assembly and prior to start up?
