replacement tires
I am planning for the Route 66 road trip this fall. I am looking for recommendations for street tires. I have non directional on now but i only sue the M151 for parades and local travel. What size /brand does anyone recommend?
Thanks
Thanks
Re: replacement tires
Size would be 215/85R-16, Brand and tread pattern is sort of like asking what is the best motor oil. Everyone will have a different answer. I would go with a mild AT tire. I personally like the BF Goodrich All Terrain's.

Re: replacement tires
Here's tire info I previously posted on this board:
Hope this helps.....I use a full set of Michelin tubeless radials in addition to a set of NDCC treads that I switch on and off for parades, etc. and the radials have never leaked air in all the years that I have been using them. The ride is much better with the radials, too!
The size is LT225 75 R16 (Michelin LTX M/S tires). The wheels are stock M151A2 and the tread width of these tires is just under 7 inches. When compared to the NDCC's, that's a lot of rubber meeting the road.

Joe, aren't they a little short?

Re: replacement tires
Rick..... I never thought of them as looking or being short. They don't rub inside the wheel wells but improve the ride as compared to the ndcc's. It would be interesting to see a side-by-side comparison of these and maybe the size you mentioned
