NOS Seat cushions found. What?!

I lucked very heavily into an NOS set of vinyl seat cushions yesterday, full front set. I'm not gonna lie, I did the happy dance. My curiousity got to me, and I started thinkin, which hurt a bit. When did they switch from canvas to vinyl?? Pretty lame question, yes. I assume there wer eprobably M151s rolling around all over with half vinyl, half canvas, etc.

I think the reason why had to do with Vietnam, the canvas rotted away in that climate, so they changed it to vinyl, don't know the year.

Sit on a vinyl seat on a nice hot sunny day, all day, and you will greatly appreciate the canvas seats! Vinyl is ok in an air conditioned vehicle but out in the sun all hot and sweaty................................. You will be dancing but it won't be a happy dance.
