Welcome aboard and welcome home, I am sure Ken, our resident identification expert, will see this and chime in eventually and give you some information. The tag in that location is usually found on early straight 151's. Does it have turn signals and a third blackout rear light? If not it is a straight 151, 63 1/2 and earlier. There are a few other clues but they are the most obvious.

Yes turn signals no 3rd blackout on rear. Does engine markings tell a tale. I realize they were changed out regularly. My engine is cast
on distributor side with: J2 67
8754675
gas

On carb side is a plate, only can identify serial # of 26059 all other info is worn paint.
Do not know if hood # are original but they are: 02BV2169
Thanks in advance

Do you have the data plate on the dash? It should have the same number as the hood and a delivery date. 02B would be VERY early 151 but I am not sure there is supposed to be a letter after that. I am sure Ken will take notice of this, I will also e-mail him about it.

Yep, sounds like another early may have appeared. Welcome to the forum. Manuals and links to the top right are great resources. Would love to read a good radio related story!

Does it have oval floor drains? As rick said, MG will have the answer for a better idea on actual hood number but before he does I'm going to guesstimate about 2B7900 just to see how close I get. :D

With everything descibed you have an early straight m151 and not an a1. One of the first ones built under Ford's first production contract. The metal tag under the radiator with serial number 1457 would probably put it around hood number 2B7944 range. My quesstimate. I'm suprised muttguru has not responded. He would be the authority on such matters round here. Any pictures? A good looking example can be seen here.. http://www.g838.org/viewtopic.php?f=11&t=10717

Hello Relie.....

I've just seen this post so sorry for the lack of comment from me. I'll dig out the necessary information for you.
While I'm doing that, can you post a few photos of your vehicle? Especially a shot of the body-plate under the radiator. It will certainly help me determine what you have and when it was built.

Thanks....
Ken
Kind regards....
