if I am not mistaken, battery and temp gauges should be swapped

I know phone videos have terrible sound but it does sound like the valves are pretty loose. Runs nice and smooth though. I think on mine the battery and temp gauges are the same but the fuel and oil pressure are inverted. I would have to look at it again.

Thanks for your comments, what adjustment do the valves have in hot and cold?
Regards, thank you.

Best way to set the valves is to do it with the engine running and at operating temperature. It doesn't shoot oil out like a geyser. Hardly any oil flies out at all. Use a feeler gauge. The correct blade is .015. And there is a reason it is called a "feeler" gauge. You insert it in the space between the rocker and push rod and you should be able to barely drag the gauge out while the engine is running. If it is too tight, it will "grab" the gauge on each stroke. If it is too loose, it will pull out from between the rocker and push rod too easy. If you have never done it, have someone show you how. It really is quite simple. Don't let it intimidate you.

I do mine with it not running after warming it up and it is just fine, the adjustment works out the same as if it were running, I have checked. Raymond, when you get old and get arthritis in your hands you will see why I do it this way.

I kept some old towels on hand when I did mine with the engine running. It's not a geyser of oil but you'll probably want to do a tidy-up along the way. After you're done and the valve cover is back on permanently, follow up with some Gunk. As was already said, don't let it intimidate you. It's a very simple process.

Cheers,
TJ

This is a procedure I have never understood, so I'm chicken to try it. How do you use a feeler guage when the engine is running, valve as moving? And you have to adjust the valves with all that going on? I have let the engine reach operating temp and then did adjustment with the engine off. I see in manuals to do this running, just don't understand how. Could you elaborate a bit?

As a matter of fact it sounds more complicated than it actually is. At least checking the valve leash with the feeler gauge. It is very straightforward, you insert it while the engine is running and you can feel very well if you can move it around very easy (too much leash) or the valve train tries to grab it (too little). With the correct setting, you can move the feeler gauge around but you have a feeling that no extra gap is there. Harder to describe than actually doing it.

What is probably not advised is adjusting the valve leash while the engine is running. While it is possible I am not doing it that way anymore. I check every valve as above but then stop the engine and adjust the valve in question. Then start again and do a final cross check.

As said above, put some towels around the engine, there will be some light oil splashing but nothing big.
