Vehicle identification number

Unread post by Grawvy01 » June 2nd, 2017, 7:27 pm

Gents,
I have an M151 A2, that does not have a VIN like my other one had. It is an AM General so I do have the tag by your right leg. Numbers 639700 C151-34236,

By a VIN tag I am guessing you mean the data plate? That is not really a VIN since it is issued buy the military and not the manufacturer. Some states will recognize the data plate number as a usable serial number and others, like NJ, will not. The M-151 has no VIN. The number you found is good info though and with it Ken the Mutt guru will be able to give you a good idea of what month and year your 151 was manufactured.
