Title number

Unread post by Mulerider » July 5th, 2017, 12:50 pm

I have a title that shows my M151A1 title to be 2N6442 but cant find that on my mutt. Found ord number (8754453 ,the 3 may be an eight) and Budd number (46327) but they don't match title number. Is that unusual? Which of he three numbers is correct for the hood?

2N6442 would be a hood number.

Example...

although I think they used 3" letters here when they later ones like this used smaller ones... maybe 2". Somebody else can confirm?

2" would be correct. And that should be the number on your data plate on the dash.

Thanks for reply. I can't read anything on data plate but plan to go ahead with 2N6442 on hood.
I have concerns that I can't find that number on vehicle for security reasons and for resale.

Muttguru may be able to tell if your hood number matches within reason to the other numbers which may alleviate some concern. Weird that you can't read the current dash plate.... you could always buy a reproduction plate and stamp yourself.

Not mine. Just an example -
